Graftcopolymerizationisapracticalwaytoalterthephysicalandchemicalpropertiesofcellulose.Inthepresentwork,aneffectivemethodforgraftingL-lactide(LA)fromunmodifiedcellulosebyring-openingpolymerizationinhomogeneousmildconditionswascarriedout.Byusing4-dimethylaminopyridine(DMAP)asanorganiccatalyst,cellulose-graft-poly(L-lactide)(cellulose-g-PLLA)copolymerswithamolarsubstitutionofPLLA(MSPLLA)inarangeof0.99-12.28weresuccessfullysynthesizedinanionicliquid1-allyl-3-methylimidazoliumchloride(AmimCl).
