A novel BPh2-chelated derivative 2 has been synthesized and characterized. Single crystal of its analogue BF2-complex 1 shows that all carbon and nitrogen atoms are almost in a plane, while boron atoms twist out of this plane with torsion angle of 28.796o measured between plane O-B-N and plane C1-C4-C4’. They emit strong yellow and green light in methylene chloride with high fluorescence quantum yields, respectively. Thermal gravimetric analysis results indicate that they both exhibit high thermal stability. In addition, the device was fabricated based on thin film spin coating BF2-complex 1 on single walled carbon nanotube, which exhibits steady and reproducible photocurrent response.
