Kaiqiang Liu was born in Inner Mongolia, China. He obtained his B.Sc. degree in 2001 and Ph. D. degree in 2007 at Shaanxi Normal University, working with Professor Dr. Yu Fang on functional molecular gels. From 2009 to 2012, he was a postdoctoral researcher in physical chemistry at Shaanxi Normal University.
