The rapid industrial growth has resulted in a surge in organic coloring agent contaminating water bodies, necessitating urgent environmental remediation. In this work, we present a facile approach for synthesizing degradable thiourea-2-polycaprolactone (T2P) to anchor gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) via filtration, aimed at AuNPs membranes with enhanced efficient catalytic activation. T2P anchored AuNPs membranes demonstrate exceptional stability and catalytic efficiency. They efficiently catalyzes the reduction of 0.1?mM solutions of 4-nitrophenol, methyl orange, and methylene blue in 330?sec, 8.0?min, and 3.0?min, respectively, while achieving the reduction of 10?4 M 2-nitrophenol takes only 240?sec. Remarkably, even after 15 catalytic cycles, the membrane maintains its original catalytic performance at an efficiency of 100?%, owing to the abundance of active sites facilitated by the preparation method. This novel approach of fabricating degradable T2P anchored AuNPs membranes sets a precedent for sustainable, high-performance catalysts, laying a foundation for economic, eco-friendly catalyst development.
