Our research group focuses on the study of electrochemical energy storage and conversion materials, devices and setup toward PEM fuel cells (i.e., polymer stabilized Pt based catalyst, long lifetime Pt based catalysts as well as low cost non-Pt catalysts for oxygen reduction reaction), lithium ion batteries, Zn-air batteries, and hydrogen/oxygen production. In addition, we also have interests in graphene and engineered graphene materials including biomass derived graphene, amorphous/2D carbide derived graphene, preparation, and their applications.
