針對厭氧顆粒污泥鈣化，王雙飛院士團隊通過研究明確了鈣化對顆粒污泥的影響；研究了厭氧顆粒污泥鈣化形成與抑制調控機制；明確了高鈣廢水引發厭氧顆粒污泥鈣化機理；總結了現有顆粒污泥鈣化控制方法優缺點；提出了調控鈣化厭氧顆粒污泥微環境，強化微生物的方案。
