New aggregates with a snowflake-like superstructure are prepared by facile and low-cost water-phase self-assembly of an amphiphilic comb-like graft copolymer, and their origin involving dynamic disorder–order structural evolution from nano- to microscale is revealed (see figure). Furthermore, aggregates perform a unique thermally induced multimorphological change leading to cluster-like nanostructures.
