Xiaoyong Zhang was born in Jiangxi, China. He received his B.S. (2004) in Preventive medicine from Wuhan University of Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D. (2011) in Inorganic Chemistry from Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SINAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) with Professor Wenxin Li and Qing Huang. Then he was work with Prof. Yen Wei at the department of chemistry, Tsinghua University as a Postdoc. He is currently an associate Prof. at the department of chemistry, Nanchang University. He has published more than 300 papers in journals, such as Mater. Today, Chem. Sci., Appl. Mater. Today, Biomaterials, Small, Nanoscale; Carbon; Polym. Chem.; Carbohydr. Polym.; Toxicol. Res.; RSC Adv.; Toxicol. Lett.; Toxicol. Appl. Pharm. and Polymer with a total citiation over 14,000 by May. 2020. More than 200 of them are the first or corresponding author. 25 papers are the highly cited paper according to ESI. His research is focused on mussel-inspired chemistry；synthesis, surface modification and biomedical applications of nanomaterials, especially for carbon-based nanomaterials and AIE-based materials.
