Awhollyaromaticpoly(1,5-diaminoanthraquinone)(PDAAQ)wassynthesizedbyachemicallyoxidativepolymerizationof1,5-diaminoanthraquinone(DAAQ)usingCrO3,K2Cr2O7,KCrO4,and,KMnO4asoxidantsundervariouspolymerizationconditionsforthefirsttime.Fineanduniformpolymerparticlesofseveralmicrometers,determinedbylaserparticle-sizeanalyzer,wereobtainedsimply.Thepolymerizationyield,electroconductivity,solubility,thermaltransition,andthermostabilityofthepolymersweresystematicallystudiedbychangingtheoxidizingagent,polymerizationtemperature,monomer/oxidantratio,andacidconcentration.FT-IRandNMRspectraofpolymersrevealthattheDAAQispolymerizedmainlyat1,4and5,8positionsbyahead-to-tailbondingmanner.Thewide-angleX-raydiffractionsuggeststhatthepolymersareamorphousstructure.ThemacromolecularstructureoftheresultingpolymerswaswhollycharacterizedbyIR,UV-vis,solid-statehigh-resolution13CNMR.Theresultsshowthattypicalpolymeryieldsandelectroconductivitiesarebetween21.4-79.5%byweight,and2.7110-9-5.5410-6S/cmbeforedoped,respectively.Allpolymersshowanextremelyhighchemicalresistanceinmanysolvents,buttheyaremoresolubleinpolarsolventssuchasH2SO4,NMP,DMSO;andtheirsolubilityinsolventsdependssignificantlyonthepolymerizationconditions.DSCandTGAanalysesindicatethatthepolymersexhibitahighthermalstability. |
