Inpresentstudy,theapproachofgraftcopolymerizationhasbeenusedtoreducethestero-regularityofPHBV.Glycidylmethacrylate(GMA)wasusedasthemonomertoproducePHBV-g-GMAgraftcopolymer.Thegraftingdegreewasdeterminedbyacid-alkalititration.Theorthogonalexperimentaldesignwasappliedtodeterminethebestreactionconditions.Theeffectofthecontentofinitiator,thecontentofmonomer,thecontentofco-monomerandtherollerspeedonthegraftingdegreewasexplored.Also,theeffectofthegraftingdegreeoncrystallizationbehaviourofPHBV-g-GMAgraftcopolymerhasbeeninvestigated.TheresultsshowedthattheintroductionofGMAhastwofoldeffectonthenucleationandgrowthofPHBVcrystallizationprocess.Inaddition,thethermalstabilityofgraftedPHBVdecreasedbecauseoftheoccurrenceofthethermaldecompositionduringmeltgraftingprocess.
