Abstract: Polymeric membranes have great potentials in the field of wastewater treatment with membrane-bioreactor. However, the relatively poor hydrophilicity and low anti-fouling property for common membranes limit their applications in this field. Therefore, series surface modifications were carried to make ideal hydrophilic and fouling-resistant surfaces for microfiltration polypropylene hollow fiber membrane, ultrafiltration polyacrylonitrile and poly(ether imide) membranes. Expected results were obtained.
