TheinfluenceofLDHsandZnOontheflameretardantandsmokesuppressionpropertiesofPVCwasstudied.ResultsshowedthatLDHs-ZnOhasasignificantsynergeticeffectwhentheratiois3:2；thereisthehighestvalueoflimitingoxygenindex(LOI)andthelowestvalueofsmokedensityrank(SDR).ThermalstabilityandsplitproductswereinvestigatedthroughthermogravimetryandPyGC-MSaswell.LDHs-ZnOeffectivelyacceleratedecompositionofPVCtoreleasehydrogenchlorideandformthetrans-conjugatedpolyenesequenceswhicheasilyformcross-linkedstructure,correspondingly,cyclizationtakesplaceobviouslyinPVCchaintoformaromaticcompoundssuchasbenzene,tolueneandnaphthalenewithoutLDHs-ZnOat350℃.ThereiscertainamountofaromaticcompoundsformedinPVC/LDHs-ZnOsampleduringdecompositionofPVCat600.
