簡介：

Thisworkinvestigatesthepossibilityofmodifyingmaleicanhydridegraftedhighdensitypolyethylene(HDPE-g-MAH)withhydroxylatedmelaminederivativesinanattempttointroducereversiblecrosslinkingbehavior.HDPE-g-MAHwascompoundedwithfourmelaminederivatives(loadingrateof5wt%)thathavedifferentnumberofhydroxylgroupsrespectively.SampleswerefirstcharacterizedwithFTIRandtheologyforevidenceofsuccessfulreactivemodification.FTIRanalysissuggeststhatallmelaminederivativesreactedwithHDPE-g-MAH;moreover，comparedtoHDPE-g-MAH,allcompoundspossessasignificantincreaseincomplexviscosity,suggestingtheformationofanetwork.Morecompoundswerepreparedformechanicaltestinganditisfoundthattheygainedimprovementineitherflexuralmodulusorimpactstrength.AlthoughnomarkeddifferenceisseenbetweenthemodifiedpolymersandthevirginHDPE-g-MAHintheirDSCcurves,somecompoundsshowincreasedheatdeflectiontemperature(HDT).Itcanbeconcludedthat,undertheemployedexperimentalconditions,allhydroxylatedmelaminederivativesweresuccessfullygraftedtoHDPE-g-MAH,thereforeinducingpermanentand/orreversiblecrosslinkednetwork.Consequentlythetheologicalandmechanicalpropertiesofthebasepolymerweremodified.
