Biomassthermoplasticshaveattractedmoreandmoreattentionsduetogreenprocessing,enwronmentalfriendshipandresourcerenewability.Andtheplasticizationtechnologyisabigchallengefortheirprocessing.Inthepastdecade,WuhanHualiEnvironmentalTechnologyCo.Ltd.developedandfabricatedthefirstgenerationthermoplasticbiomassplasticswiththetradenameofPSMbasedontheplasticizationofbiomassstarch,andtheproductioncapacityofPSMisupt040,000tonperyear,andthesebiomassplasticshavebeenusedtoproducedailyplasticproductssuchastrays,toys,packingfilm,bagsandfoamarticles.Further,theauthorsdevelopedthecellulose-based,straw-basedandtheircompositethermoplasticsusing50%一100%ofcottonlinter,bamboopowder,cottonorramiestraw,ricehusk,andtheirmixtureindegradablepolymermatrix.Duetothebiomassplasticization,thesepolymer/biomasscompositethermoplasticscanbepelleted,aseriesofthermoplasticsbiomassproductswillbefabricatedbyinjection,extrusionandcompressionmoldingwithcompetitivecost,highmechanicalpropertiesandexcellentbio-degradability.
