Forthedesignoffibrereinforcedrubberproductsthematerialchoiceoftenreceivesalltheattention.Theproblemwiththisapproachisthatthecomposedstructureofmostproductsisnotoptimized.TANIQandtheDelftUniversityofTechnologyhavedevelopedanewmethodoffibrereinforcingrubberproductswithacomplexshape,calledCorpofibrereinforcement.Thistechnologycanbeappliedtoimproveproductssuchashosesorcompensatorswhicharenotconstantofdiameter.Thetechnologyisbas-edonthefactthatallfibresareequallyloadedintensionandtherubbermatrixhaszeroshearstress.Asetofequationscanbeobtainedthatdescribetheshapeandfibrereinforcementstructureoftheseproductsaccordingtothreeparametersq,randρ0.Dependingontherequireddimensions,shapeandpropertiesoftheproduct,theseparameterscanbechangedtoobtainanoptimaldesign.Asmartgeometryofthefibrereinforcementwillcausenoshearstressinthematrixmaterialwhichresultinalongerlifetime.Becauseoftheoptimizedfibregeometryupto70%reductionoffibresand30%ofrubberispossible,loweringthematerialcostoftheproduct.Higherpressurelevelsandpredictionandcontrolovertheexpansionbehaviourunderpressurecreatepossibilitiesfornewproducts.
