Theeffectsofsomemembranepreparationconditionsonthepropertiesandstructureofpoly(vinylidenefluoride)/polyethersulfoneblendmembraneswerestudied.Poly(vinylidenefluoride)(PVDF)andpolyethersulfone(PES)wereusedasbasepolymers.Dimethyiacetamide(DMAc)wasselectedasthesolventandpolyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP)wasusedaspore-formingadditive.Thepreparationvariablesinthisworkwereevaporationtime,temperatureofevaporationmediumandcastingsolutiontemperature.Theflat-sheetmembranespreparedbyphaseinversionwerecharacterizedbyscanningelectronmicroscopy(SEM).Membraneperformancewasevaluatedbypurewaterfluxandretentiontobovineserumalbumin(BSA).ThepurewaterfluxofblendmembranesdecreasesandtheretentiontoBSAincreasesastheevaporationtimeextendedandthetemperatureofevaporationmediumincreased.Theretentiondecreaseswhentheevaporationtimeexceeds6minandthetemperatureofevaporationmidumsurpasses60℃.Thepurewaterfluxofblendmembranesincreasesandtheretentionisalmostunchangedwithcastingsolutiontemperatureincreasing.
