Filmsandelectrospunfibersheetsmadefrompoly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate)(PHBV)areexploredasdrugdeliveryvehiclesusingtetracyclinehydrochlorideasamodeldrug.Inordertoassistinchoosingsuitableprocessconditionsforspinning,theviscositiesofPHBVsolutionsinchloroformwereinvestigated.Thefibersheetswereelectrospunandthefilmswerecastedfromchloroformsolutionscontainingasmallamountofmethanoltosolubilizethedrug.Thevitroreleaseofthetetracyclinehydrochloridefromthesenewdrugdeliverysystemsinphosphatebuffersolution(PBS)wasfollowedbyUV–VISspectroscopy.ThemorphologyofthesenewdrugloadedmaterialsbeforeandafterreleasewasinvestigatedbySEM.
