TheO-methylacrylamide-2-hydroxypropyltrimethylammoniumchloridechitosan(reactivequaternaryammoniumsaltofchitosan)wassynthesizedwithUltrasoundIrradiationcanincreasethewatersolubilityandmadethereactivebondsbetweenchitosanandfibers.Theeffectofsubstitutingdegreeandreactiontimeindifferentconditionwasstudied.TheresultindicatedthatcatalyzedbyUltrasoundIrradiationcouldraisethesubstitutingdegreeandsavedthereactiontimeremarkably.Inthisexperiment,thechitosanderivativecouldformreactivebondswithcellulose.Theantibacterialactivityofcottonfabrictreatedwiththereactivequaternaryammoniumsaltofchitosan(NMA-HTCC)wasalsostudied,theresultshowed90%bacterialreductionwithin30minwhencontractedwithEscherichiacoli.
