Wereportthesynthesisandcharacterizationofdendrimer-entrappedgoldnanoparticles(AuDENPs)modifiedwithpolyethyleneglycol(PEG)withimprovedbiocompatibilityforcomputedtomography(CT)imagingapplications.Inthisstudy,amine-terminatedpoly(amidoamine)dendrimersofgeneration5(G5.NH2)modifiedbyPEGmonomethylether(G5.NH2-mPEG20)wereusedastemplatestosynthesizeAuDENPs,followedbyacetylationoftheremainingdendrimerterminalaminestogenerate{(Au0)300-G5.NHAc-mPEG20}DENPs.TheformedPEGylatedAuDENPswerecharacterizedusing1HNMR,UV-Visspectroscopy,andtransmissionelectronmicroscopy.
