Asathermosettingresinwithgoodcomprehensiveperformance,epoxyresin(EP)iswidelyusedinelectronicindustries.However,theflameretardancyofgeneralEPcannotmeettheneedsforelectronicapplications.Traditionally,methodsofphysicallyblendingflame-retardantadditiveswithEPwerestudiedforobtainingflame-retardantEP.Themajordisadvantagewasthatallflame-retardingadditivesmightbelostinprocessing.Inrecentyears,relatedresearchmainlyfocusedonthephosphorus-containingreactiveflameretardants,throughwhichwecouldchemicallybondtheflameretardantwithphosphorusatomtopolymerchain.Thepermanentattachmentofphosphorusatomstopolymerleadtohighefficiencyinflameretardancycl].Inthisstudy,areagent2-methy-2,5-dioxo-l,2-oxaphospholane(OP)wereintroducedintoEPsystemasareactiveflameretardant.ThebestcuringtemperaturesofEPsystemsandglasstransitiontemperatures(Tg)ofcuredEPwerealldeterminedbyDSC(TAQ20).Thelimitoxygenindexes(LOI)weredeterminedaccordingtoGB/T2406-1993andverticalcombustiontestingswereconductedaccordingtoGB/T2408-1996.Inourresearch,OPplayedagoodflameretardanteffectontheEP/DDMsystem.TheLOIreached24.2%andUL-94gradereachedV-OlevelwiththemolarratioI:Iofepoxyandacidanhydridegroupsc2].ThroughthereactioninasystemofOP/m-dihydroxybenzene(orp-dihydroxybenzene)/EP,apre-polymerwasobtained.Thephosphorus-containingEPpre-polymerhadtheabilityofself-curing.ThecuredEPhadgoodflameretardantproperties.TheLOIofcuredEPwere25.0%and25.7%forOP/m-dihydroxybenzene/EPandOP/p-dihydroxybenzene/EPsystem,respectively.TheverticalcombustiontestbothreachUL-94V-olevelc3]
