SPEEK/Y2O3compositemembraneswerepreparedwithSPEEKof48.3%sulfonationdegree(DS)andcharacterizedbySEM,holographicimaging,FTIR,andXRD.TheresultsshowedthattheY2O3weredispersedevenlyinthemembranesandthecoordinationexistedbetweenyttriumcationsinY2O3andoxygenanionsinsulfonicgroups.ThecrystalstructureofY2O3changedforthecharacteristicpeaksdisappearedinXRDimagesofthecompositemembrane.Themethanolresistanceimprovedabout60%andwateruptakereducedby70%withY2O3contentsincreasingfrom0to8wt.%.Theprotonconductivitiesofallcompositemembranesexceeded10-2S/cmat60℃and75%relativehumidity.SPEEK-2andSPEEK-5specimensshowedgoodselectivity,havinggoodpotentialforuseinDMFC.
